HETAS Technical Committee
The HETAS Technical Committee is the technical forum of solid
fuel/biomass appliance manufacturers, test laboratories and allied
trades.
The objectives of the committee are to promote the safe design,
installation and use of solid fuel and biomass appliances by:
- Providing technical expertise to Government
consultations.
- Ensuring the revision and creation of British
and European standards are made in a safe and usable manner.
- Work to reduce or remove future threats to the
industry from unworkable regulations.
- Actively fight to stop the sale of illegal
products.
- Work to ensure European Regulations can be
implemented without damaging UK industry.
- Provide HETAS with knowledge of industry
issues, to allow HETAS to best target its resources when lobbying
Government.
The committee is made up from elected representatives of member
companies who work with HETAS towards achieving a satisfactory outcome
to identified issues.
Members
Members meet at Technical Committee meetings three times a year. Active
working groups meet more frequently in order to complete work
schedules. Internet forum based collaboration and document handling
allows efficient use of the members resources.
The technical forum is restricted to HETAS Technical Committee members
and their named employees only. There is no public access.

New Website and Forum
To increase productivity and responsiveness of the committee, HETAS
have setup a new Website and forum dedicated to organising the work of
the committee
